After Jackson's LONG nap (Colin and I got to sit and watch a movie together on our laptop), we went back to the playroom. I have to say, it's amazing. It is ridiculously organized and stocked full of crafts, paints, puzzles, board games, and the largest collection of vhs tapes and dvds known to man.
I forgot to mention, and don't want to forget this moment ... when we were in the playroom, colin and I were sitting at the table watching him, and he was playing a little solemnly ... and all of sudden he asked, "Hey mommy, do you know what it sounds like? This song is by U2" Oh, the pride! I couldn't stop giggling, and so happy that he would recognize my favorite band!
Anyway, just wanted to record that to always remember it ...
Anyway, so, we were back at the playroom later, and we decided to paint pictures together. Colin did a word search because he wasn't really into painting : )
I would like to start incorporating makeup into my regular routine. Oh, and maybe get a haircut, and a pedicure. It's going on the list of things to do.
Anyway, it's not about my poor appearance, it's about jackson's improving one! He has some m ore color in his cheeks this evening. He managed to eat quite a few fries and some chicken. He is passing up cookies and pudding (what?) but i think he is just getting full very quickly. His voice sounds different still - I guess from the breathing tube. Just a little hoarse and softer than normal. He's slowly getting back to our Jackson though. I think that going home will be the best medicine. Only has to take medicine at midnight, and then at 6 am. Should be able to go home before any more here. He's causing a bit of a stink over swallowing anything, but I don't blame him. His guard is up. The blood pressure cuff is about the only thing that he doesn't tense up over.
I think that being honest with him is working out the best. Honest, but just not honest too early.
We gave Jackson a much-needed bath tonight. I think it helped him feel much better. It can do wonders : )
Colin went home for the evening, and will hopefully be getting some quality sleep in. They should only have to come in our room at 12 and 6 tonight, so here's hoping for rest here, too.
Today is an important day for our whole family. 5 years ago my dad passed away. I was almost exactly as far along with my pregnancy with Jackson as I am now with Maggie. So glad that we have some wonderful news this year on the anniversary of his death. He would be so proud of Jackson. What a tough kid.
I'm hoping that my last post from the hospital will be about us being discharged! Once we are home, we're back to no internet (or cable) so I'll be off of here for a while. Not that I will have time to post 5 times a day, anyway ; )
As I type this, I have some very good friends praying a novena for Jackson at our chapel. I will be joining them later after Jackson goes to sleep. I'm so thankful for their dedication to prayer.
Please keep your prayers coming; we are praying for all of you as well. We're so thankful for all of the support.
thinking of you all today and so happy to hear Jackson is better! Love you all!
