We've made it a whole week!

Things are going well here! Cooper is sleeping great at night - of course he is waking every 3-5 hours to nurse, but he goes right back to sleep. I think we're going to have another chunky baby on our hands! He has been really happy the last couple of days and I think he is getting the hang of things - for a couple of days he was eating way to much and spitting up alot, but that seems to be better now. Jackson is adjusting well - he enjoys kissing Cooper and petting his head like a cat. It's quite cute. Though I do always hold my breath in fear he may whack him. So far so good.
Colin will go back to work on Monday, and my mom gets here Sunday. So, I have another week before I have to go it alone! I really have been missing my dad alot and wishing he was here to see both of the boys. I know he would be so proud. And my grandmother would just have a fit over them. I like to believe that the two of them are our guardian angels.

We had Gumbo one night and Colin and I were trying to get dinner fixed for us, and trying to get Cooper to go to sleep. So, without giving it much thought I gave Jackson a paper towel tube to keep him occupied. I turned around to find him using it as a giant spoon. It was beyond hilarious. Ugh! There was gumbo all inside of the tube and he was managing to eat with it. Whooops!

And here are some of Jackson playing in the backyard. He loves being outside so much. The weather has been great. Our friend Michelle has given us all kinds of toys for Jackson's that her kids have outgrown... and Jackson LOVES them!

Things are going really well - of course, Cooper is sleeping during the day, and not so much at night. He is very interested in looking around at 3 am and not so much snoozing. But other than that I can't complain. We FINALLY gave the poor kid a bath today - he hadn't had one since the hospital (whoops). My mom went home today which was hard - luckily she will be back next weekend, but it is so nice with her here. Jackson got plenty of one on one attention and she cooked and cleaned, listened to me complain, and all those wonderful things mothers do for us. Jackson is adjusting well I think. He has yet to try and poke or prod Cooper, and mostly just points to him and tells us something in his own language. He brings Cooper' s hats and blankets and diapers to him if they are lying around. He has been a bit sensitive, but he just needs a few extra hugs and kisses.

Cooper James Delaney arrived! Yesterday, October 22. Here's the summary because I am really tired and need to get to bed! : )
Born at 4:36 pm, 20.5 ounces long, 8 lb 15.6 ounces long (No wonder my belly was SO huge)
He does look quite a bit like Jackson, the same chubby cheeks, eyes, and round chin. But he has really light hair, and not much of it. He has my big ears and sweet little heart shaped lips. And he is big! Here are some pictures from our stay in the hospital. We got to leave today a little before 5 pm. Now we're home and doing really well. We will put more pictures and details soon... After we sleep...

Round up on the Range

On Saturday the three of us went to a nearby park for an event called Round up on the Range. They had powwows, chuck wagon cookoffs, stage coach rides ... Anyway, Jackson had a great time - mostly in the petting zoo. We met up with our friends Suzy and Johnny and their little girl, Addison. Here are some pictures from the day.

Yes, I am Still Pregnant

As of right now, we're expecting Cooper to make his debut in a week. My Dr. will induce on Wednesday, the 22nd, which is 4 days before my due date. My platelet count looks good as of right now, and I'm feeling well. Just cleaning the house, AGAIN, and trying to get last minute things before Cooper arrives.
Today my friends Kathy and Michelle came over and brought lunch. Yum! And their youngest children, Ella and Maia, chased Jackson around. I took a few pictures of them playing ... and there are a few pictures Colin took tonight while I was at Bible Study.

So, still no cooper. I am STILL pregnant. and getting fatter by the second. I guess it was totally false labor. Still having some contractions, but after tuesday they stopped coming every 5 minutes. So, my mom and brother went home today, and I see the doctor on Tuesday. The induction date is still set for the 22nd, unless something changes. So, hopefully my platelet count will remain high. We shall see.
Anyway, yesterday our cousin Paul came over for dinner and to watch the lsu game. We missed the first part of the game because our power went out. Very exciting. Here are some pictures ...

Where is this baby?

I woke up yesterday (Wednesday morning) with hardly any contractions - and I felt better than I have in weeks. I don't know of another time when I wished I felt bad. I went from feeling like I was in labor with major contractions to just hanging out with the fam. So, my mom, brother, and Colin all headed to the duck pond and made a couple of laps. It was successful in bringing about a couple of contractions, but those ended after the walk did. We did some shopping, eating, and I put out our halloween decorations. Nothing. Poo! So, now my family is here and Colin didn't do into work, and NOTHING is happening. I went in for a cbc first thing in the morning and my plateltet count was 115. Yay. so hopefully it will just stay high until I have this kiddo. I am really having alot of side effects tonight from the steroids (or I am assuming most are from the steroids). The indigestion/heartburn thing is so yucky. Taking the pill in the morning helps, but anytime I lie down it just really stinks. So, here I am, sitting up in the nursery chair, chewing on tums, drinking some water, and trying to distract myself on the internet. I wish I could Sleep. Or better yet, have some more regular contractions and have this baby!
The pressure is on. I feel like if I don't get this baby out my mom and brother are going to have to head back to louisiana and Colin is planning on being at work starting tomorrow (i hate for him to take all of his time off before his son even arrives!). So, I shall keep you all posted.
By the way, thanks Kristen and Rebekah for updating your blog. I was so excited to have something to read when I got on the computer!
We are planning on going to the firestation in the morning with the St. Gabriels mom's group (this is a wonderful group of stay at home moms from our church who all meet up a couple times a week at playdates and fun activities for the kiddos). So, maybe the fire engines will entice Cooper to come out. If anything, Jackson should enjoy the fun!

So, my contractions have been every 4-5 minutes since yesterday sometime. and they hurt. good news is that i went to get a cbc this morning and my count was 95. Yay!
Anything over 90 = epidural! wooowoooo!
i went ahead into labor and delivery around noon today after talking to my doctor. So, I am in labor, but only 50% effaced and 2 cm dilated. My doctor said I could stay and walk the halls at the hospital or go home and be comfortable. So, I came home. My mom and brother arrived to McKinney 10 minutes later and Jackson soon woke up from his nap. My friends Michelle and Kathy were sweet and watched Jackson for the couple of hours we were at the hospital.
Anyway, we decided to head to the Pumpkin Farm that is about 15 min north of our house in Celina. What better way to encourage labor to progress than to go on a hayride!! And that we did! We fed the animals, picked some pumpkins from the patch, and let the tractor pull us around on a wagon full of haybails.
Now it is just a guessing game of when I should go back. My doc. laughed, because usually when you're contractions are 4-5 min apart you should definitely be at the hospital, however, they are already that way. So, I just have to wait until they become more painful ... or maybe my water will break. Goodness Gracious. The other issue is she warned me not to wait too long because we will have to do a cbc when i get there and make sure my count is still good before getting an epidural. My hope is that I can sleep a little tonight in my own bed .... hopefully better than last night, and then wake up, get my cbc at the hematologist's office in the morning, and then head to the hospital.
I'll keep y'all posted if anything changes. Meanwhile, here are some pictures from the Pumpkin Farm. I am so glad we got a chance to go. Jackson had a great time and it was good to spend that time with him before the Coop gets here.
