Colin's Birthday

Colin's parents came in last week.  Colin and his dad went fishing at Lake Texoma.    They had a good time, and brought back dinner for us : )  Cynthia and I took Coop and Charlie to gymnastics, and then she watched the kids while I went to the gym!

Colin and I got to sneak out that evening after the kids went to bed.  Tried Rick's first.   LOUD live music.   On to the Londoner.  CLOSED.   boo.   Finally walked over to Savour, had some appetizers and drinks.   Nice to have some time with just the two of us.

Next day, kids just had a half-day.   Took them to school, went to mass, dropped Maggie off to Cynthia and Kevin ... and went to meet some friends for a novena.   Some friends through St. Gabriel have a little boy, Max, who is 5 months old.   He had open-heart surgery to repair some holes in his heart.   Everything went well, and he is now at home healing.   I am so grateful for the women in our moms group.   What an incredible thing to be able to pray together with your friends.   I write this because I don't want to forget it. Often I don't write down the most important things.

Anyway, then I went back to pick up the boys.   Came home and hung out around the house.

Nothing better than a cardboard box.

Uncle Daniel pulled them around the room for a bit.

 Cooper took a turn.

This picture.   Oh, I love these kids.
Maggie with the plastic corn.  Jackson looking so old.

 And this picture.
It just goes so fast.
I want to remember it all!
Maggie saying "Yessssssss" for everything.   And more recently, "NOOOOOO!" to everything.
Charlie constantly asking how to spell things.

Friday also happened to be Colin's birthday : )
The big 35.
Mid 30s.
5 years from 40.
hahaha.
I can't help but to tease him.

I think he is getting even more handsome each year : )

Cynthia ordered these little bundt cakes in many delicious flavors.
YUM.

 Sweet cheeks.

Cynthia and Kevin gave Jackson his present after Colin opened his.

February...

Colin and I had a date night the last weekend in January.
We went to St. Mark's School auction.
Fun and stressful to get dressed up.
I didn't have a nice dress that fit, so of course I waited until a couple of days before to drag myself shopping.  Then I took a look at Colin's suits and sport coats, which are mostly dating back before we met.  So, we headed to Dillards, kids in tow.

  It's why I shop online.
Grocery store: no problem.
Department store: no good.

This is a picture I took out of extreme guilt.
I was thinking about how many pictures I used to take ...
kids going for a walk, doing puzzles, just hanging around the house.
So, I picked up my camera and took a picture of what Maggie was doing ...
watching Dora
: (

We had a sweet visit from Maria and Gianna Lewis.
Why I didn't get a picture of the two of us, I don't know.
The kids loved playing with Gianna, and she put on quite a show for us.
Maggie was in awe.

So thankful they came by to see us.

Colin did another day as a watchdog at school.  Dads can spend the day helping out at the school.   Such a great program.

I was taking this picture so he could send it to the program leader who requested one.
Maggie couldn't handle not being in the picture.   She wiggled her way in.

Cooper and Charlie decided to accessorize with Maggie's bows.

Baked Cookies for the teachers for Valentines.

Colin surprised me with flowers and my favorite candy on the 21st.   I had told my friend Claire I felt like I was forgetting a birthday or something.   Colin remembered our first date 13 years ago.  : )
So sweet and romantic of him.

Made cookies for my Bible Study group - ENDOW.

Also made a million king cakes this season.
And ate a lot of king cake.

Mr. Cub Scout.

Jackson loves making these little paper airplanes.... he got a calendar for Christmas that has a template for each day.

Crazy hat day at school.

Sunshine

My friend, Sunshine, just had her fourth child!  I'm so happy she is part of the club now,  HA!
Back at the end of January, we had a lunch for her here.

 Adrienne, Heather, Sunshine, and Jessica.

Caitlyn and Maggie had a tea party upstairs. Loved watching them play.

So happy to celebrate baby Colton.
So thankful for the friendship of these girls.
