November

Earlier this month we had a quick visit from the McCormicks.   

And this time there were three!  So excited to meet Eva.   She's a doll.   

She and Maggie are just a couple of weeks apart.  Wish we lived closer!

Sweet, sweet girl.  I know she must have been a tad overwhelmed by the noise level of the boys.

My mom closed on her new house.   Is moving in next week!  Hooray!

We can walk there!!

 

 

 We surprised my mom with a painting of her house in Lake Charles.  A lady named Sue Zimmerman painted it over the summer, and we got it about a month ago and framed it.  

We snuck it in her house on the day that she closed. 

 Need to take a picture of it - it's beautiful.  We had a print made for our house, too.

Maggie continues to be the cutest, happiest, chunky baby.

She's been waking up in the middle of the night more often than not.   For a little while it was the other way around.   But it's not bad.  Look how cute she is, it's so hard to get frustrated.  

Plus, Colin and I are tired anyway.  

"I'm crawling!  Sort of."

I can't handle the cuteness.

I sound obnoxious, I know.

Just so thankful for everything about Maggie.

She crawls for a couple of feet, and then sits back up.   It's cute.

Hosted book club here.   Made lighthouse cookies the night before because 1. i'm crazy and 2. the book we read was called A Light Between Oceans.  Good book!  

Finishing out this week, and then getting ready to go to Alexandria for Thanksgiving and Lake Charles for a friend, Chelsi's wedding. 

Maggie 7 Months

Ms. Maggie is 7 months old.   Closing in on 8 now.  No new teeth, but a little more crawling.   No need for gates, yet.   She is just so happy and doesn't really move around much.    Not much to report about her this month.   I'm sure she gained a few : )   Oh, she's eating alot now.   Pretty much everything.   Likes finger foods much better than spooned purees. 

 

More interested in the curtains than posing for me.  

She still continues to amaze me.   SO HAPPY.  So chunky.  So lovable.

Pumpkin Carvin and Trick or Treatin'

While Colin was out of town, the boys kept asking me when we would carve pumpkins.  So, late in the afternoon I ran to the grocery store, bought 3 pumpkins (and a few groceries to help us get through the next few days).   Came home, and 45 minutes later our Jack-o-lanterns were proudly sitting out by our front door.  What a fun afternoon!   Big thanks for Daniel and mom for keeping them away from the sharp knives ; ) and helping scoop all the "stuff" out from them.  

 Jack was hesitant at first, but he scooped that pumpkin clean.  

 It was nearly sterile by the time he finished.

 I love Charlie's Jack O Lantern face.   He did draw a mouth!   And ALOT of eyes. 

 Charlie allowed me to get away with only carving out a handful of eyes.  

Pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable that was.   

And love these silly boys' expressions.

So glad that Colin made it home in time for Halloween!

 

 

Carnival

Colin left for Boston last Saturday morning.   My mom, brother, and the 5 of us went to the boys' school carnival.  I have the best memories of our school carnivals growing up.   I was excited to take the kids.   Sad that Colin wasn't there, but we did okay! 

 

 The fun slide was, in fact, FUN!

The boys wanted to ride the roller coaster - THE DRAGON WAGON  ; )

Their faces were priceless.

Sheer terror.

 

 About the fourth time around, Jackson called to me, "COOPER DOESN'T LIKE IT!!!!"

and I could see Cooper just repeating those words over and over and over again...

"I don't like it.  Jackson, I don't like it.  I don't like it."

When it was over, Jackson looked relieved, but said he liked it and wanted to do it again next year.

Cooper did NOT want to do it again next year.

Rode the kiddie train to relax.

Then we did some horrible spinning ride (no picture).

Of course, neither Daniel nor my mom were getting on these rides, so I sucked it up.

I pretended to like it.  

I didn't like it. 

But, Charlie and Cooper loved it! Jackson tolerated it.

I just kept praying for it to end and that I wouldn't throw up on my children and that one of the three of them wouldn't freak out in the middle of it, and I wouldn't be able to do anything to help them.

Anyway, we did it.

Jackson did the swing thing.   Cooper wasn't tall enough.

SO fun.

Wish Charlie would have been able to do it at the same time.

And then the berry-go-round.

Thankfully the big boys could do this all by themselves.   They were joined by two other little guys the same ages.

Maggie zonked out.

The boys played all the little games, too.

Fun times.  Looking forward to next year!
