First Day of Kindergarten and PreK 3

Last Monday was a big day for us!   Cooper started Pre K for the first time, and Jackson started Kindergarten!  Colin went in to work that morning so he could head up to school with us.   My mom came over and stayed with Maggie and Charlie so we could walk the older two into their classrooms a little easier.

We made a big breakfast (they didn't eat all that much) and already had lunches packed and uniforms (down to the shoes) ready to go.   They were both so adorably excited!

They are both at the same school this year (we LOVE our old preschool at our church - but it just didn't make much sense to drive down to Plano for Jackson, then drive back through Allen and then up to McKinney ...)   So, they are both at St. Mark's Catholic School.  I think we are going to love it too!  The preschool is in a separate building, but they get to eat lunch at the same time in the "big" cafeteria ... so they get to at least wave to each other : )

And here are the goofballs just before we left.

We had A LOT of stuff to bring the first day.  Really glad that Colin was there, and that I wasn't pushing Maggie and Charlie in the stroller, too!

So excited!

Cooper with his teacher, Ms. Ferri.
She is so nice and patient.
There are 8 children in their "busy bumble bee" class ... 6 boys, 2 girls.
Cooper was acting a little silly and made getting a picture a little difficult.
He will go ALL DAY on M, W, F!
Hours for preschool are 7:55 - 3:00, but we drop them off right at 7:40 to be able to get both boys through two different drop off lanes, and into their classrooms on time.
They walk Cooper over to meet Jackson for 3:30 dismissal, so that I can pick them up at the same place, same time.

After we had gotten Cooper settled into his classroom (he ran in and started playing ... had to cal his name twice for him to look up and wave goodbye to us), we realized that we had about 5 minutes to get Jackson to his room.
A little different atmosphere in Kinder.  There are 26 children.  Whew!  Full room.
He quickly found his place at his table, and sat quietly like the other kiddos.
He looked a little nervous, and possibly embarrassed when I hugged him three times and asked for a kiss...)

The only picture that I got of Jackson ...
not even one with his teacher : (
Oh well.
He is loving Kindergarten.   So excited about every detail.
Asked me, "Hey mom, wouldn't it be great if we stayed at Kindergarten even at night?"
: )
I wonder if Charlie or Maggie will be sad when I leave them at school?
Guess it's a good problem to have, and I'm so thankful that they are enjoying it.

The first day was SOOOOO LONG!   I couldn't wait until 3:30 to pick them up.  Charlie helped me lick the batter bake cupcakes (and decorate them in school colors), and we had them waiting as a special after school snack.

Day at the Lake

The Morris' invited Colin and the older boys to spend a day on their boat.    They went last year, and have not stopped talking about it.   They had a blast!

 Riding on "Big Mable"
Jackson, Nathan, Cooper, Emma, and Nick

 Emma skiing.
Wow!

Jackson wanted to try, and Mr. Greg helped him.

Colin said he was SO close.   He tried twice.   Got pretty upset after he fell the first time (not because it scared him, because he wanted to do it so badly).   Tried again and got so close!   I think everyone cheered him on for doing so well on his second try, so he was happy with that.

They had icecream.
Ha!
I love this picture.   His hair.  The mess.  Priceless.

They came home and were a mess!  I mean, falling apart they were so tired.
I bet they would nap if I took them to the lake every morning ; )

While they were there, Maggie, Charlie, and I had a visit from Jessica, Sam, and Stella.
It was so nice to see them while they passed through on the way home to Austin from Shreveport.
We get to see them next week, and David too!
Maybe I will take some pictures then!!

Sleep-Over

The Louis' came over a week or two ago and spent the day/night with us.   We had such a great time.  My kids were SO happy about the "Sleep-over!" Turns out I had to remove my children from the room for a while, because they (mostly Cooper) were VERY excited about the whole scenario - and it didn't look like sleep was in the cards for any of them.   We carried them back in there once they were asleep, and everyone slept really well.

At one point, the kids were all jumping from the pack&play to the crib....

having the time of their lives.

Rebekah plans lots of cute "Olympic" themed activities ...

Jackson was concentrating (as always) on the task at hand.

Got personal pizzas from Papa Murphy's so they could each make their own.
Notice the cheese pile on Charlie and Margaret's pizzas : )

 Peek-A-Boo!
Loving this picture of Simon.

Charlie was more interested in eating the m&ms than putting them on his rings...

Cute Henry.

Had a blast with our friends, and would give anything for them to live down the road from us.

Check out Rebekah's blog for more pictures ... and to see all the cute crafts she organized for the kids.

Belly Laugh

Had to post this video of Maggie with a case of the giggles.   She loves her brothers!

Funny thing about all four of our children... if you make them laugh, they get the hiccups.

July Wrap Up

I've been really lousy at blogging.   Just feel like I am treading water trying to get everything (or anything) done.   So, here's a quick recap of the end of July.

Carmen and JP's little boy, Joseph, turned 3!   And they celebrated with a Fiesta!
So much fun...

 Carmen made the pinata.

Cooper spent most of the party playing with their cat.
This boy would LOVE a pet.
One day.

We hung out in the backyard any chance we got ... which wasn't that often because it is always like 100 degrees here.

 Loved on Maggie.

Maggie: 4 Months Old

Maggie recently turned 4 months old.

She LOVES grabbing her dress or a burp cloth and chewing on it.

Loves putting her hand in her mouth.

Loves watching her brothers.

Gets the hiccups every time she starts giggling.

Sits in the jumperoo or the exersaucer for a few minutes happily ... still perfecting her reaching/grabbing skills.  Done with the bouncy seat in the last week or so.

Sleeps well.   Usually takes one AWESOME nap a day.  Lots of nights she sleeps from 9:30-5am.   Then awake for an hour or so, back to bed for a couple of hours.

Spits up alot.    Some days are much worse than others.  Doesn't seem to mind, though.

About to start cereal if I ever get around to it.

Waking up more easily now.  Moved her to her crib a few days ago.   Doing great.

We bounce her/ walk her to sleep.   Sleep training will come later.   No rush.

Rosy cheeks and fuzzy hair, makes me smile.

Rolls on top of rolls.

15 lbs 12 oz (84%)
24" long (32%)
17 head circ (91%)
