Two Saturday's ago, we were lucky enough to see some dear friends, Mary, Eugenia, and Henley. I babysat for Eugenia and Henley during college, and they are like family to me. Eugenia had a soccer tournament in Frisco, so we got to see them! The boys had a blast running around the empty field next to the game, and we enjoyed catching up and cheering Eugenia on. After the game we went to Babe's chicken for a delicious lunch. It was so great to see them - wish we could get together more often.
When I first started sitting for Eugenia and Henley, they were 2 and 4 - the same age as Jackson and Cooper right now. Hard to believe. Eugenia is 16 now. And I'm old.
(Eugenia in blue).
She's the best one on the team. And I'm not just saying that because I love her.
Henley was sunbathing or sun sleeping.
Mary and Colin catching up. And Charlie was loving the artificial grass.
Cooper was pretty interested in these rocks.
So glad we got to see our friends. Eugenia and Henley are so grown up and so smart, beautiful, and polite. It was really sweet to see them interact with our boys. I feel like it was yesterday that I had their carseats in the back of my Ford Escort. Colin remembers seeing me on campus toting the two girls around before we ever met. I'm so proud of both of them, and blown away with what incredible young women they have become.
Later that day, after we went home for nap time, we all went to a St. Pat's party at a friend of mine (through the mom's group) Jodie's house.
She and her husband threw a great party. Wish I had taken pictures of all the food! There was so much! And fun drinks, too. We didn't know anyone else at the party, but it was fun to chat with everyone. We joked that she invited us because we have such good Irish names.
The highlight of the party for the boys was a giant inflatable leprechaun that was in the back yard. They ran back and forth across the yard with it.
They also enjoyed bopping each other over the head with these "noise makers"
Enjoying some of his party favors when we got home.
Happy St. Patty's day!
Oh my goodness, I can't believe those girls are that old now! I remember when you babysat for them too! And loved the St. Patty's Day party pics...I want a giant inflatable leprauchan for my backyard... =)
