Shower Cake

Today I helped host a baby shower for Rebekah, who is pregnant with a little girl, Margaret. I had intentions of taking lots of great pictures at the party, but when I got home I realized I took alot of the food, and that was about it. Once people arrived I guess I forgot. Anyway, I made the cake as my contribution. I was much happier with the way the icing turned out compared to Cooper's birthday cake. I had a bit of a crisis when two (of the four) layers got stuck in their pans and I had to rebake them. And of course, I was out of eggs and oil at that point, but, it all came together in the end. The roses are made of fondant - and I haven't made any since I took the decorating class when Jackson was a baby. That was my favorite part of working on this cake - I'll have to make those again, soon. Usually I am baking for one of the three boys in my life - so roses are out of the question. I'll have to find a reason to make another girly cake soon.
