Anyway, we were still stuck in the house, but had some fun anyway...
Charlie riding in his race car basket.
don't know how he gets in there ... like a cat squeezing into a tiny space.
Jackson and Cooper decorated empty tissue boxes (WE HAD PLENTY!!) to collect their valentines.
Cooper's butterfly ... creative little guy.
We made a couple of king cakes, too.
We missed Louisiana and wished we were there for the fun.
I also fixed some dough and divided it up for the boys. They each got to make their own King Cake on Mardi Gras.
Maggie sat on the floor and snacked ; )
And final products ...
They each chose 3 colors of sprinkles.
Jack had already taken a bite, but put his slice back because he insisted in getting a picture.
Charlie's face says it all.
They had a great time!
: )
Ms. Priss just keeps putting her foot up on the table and sliding her chair away from the table.
Then leans forward to try and reach her food.
So we push her closer, and she does it again.
Funny girl.
Later in the month, Colin and I got away to Shreveport for one night. We brought Ms. Maggie along and the boys stayed here with Grandma Cathy and Uncle Daniel.
Met Mary (I babysat for her two girls during my Centenary days ... one is going to college in the fall, and the other is already driving.... this is all very depressing for me considering I changed the younger ones diapers. Anywho, they are beautiful young women and it was so sweet to see them).
So, we met Mary and Henley for lunch and the waitress was just so sweet. She laid out a white tablecloth on the floor for Maggie to play on. Then filled an empty water bottle with M&Ms so she could shake them. That's not a usual occurrence when we go out to eat here. Not that people aren't nice. But it's not the same. Those are the things that really make me miss Louisiana.
Clearly, she didn't stay on the tablecloth
We put Maggie to bed and headed over to Tricia and Beau's house for a couples shower ... for one of Colin's fraternity brothers, Patrick and his fiance, Lisanne. It is such a small world because I went to school with Tricia and Beau from Kindergarten-12th grade. Tricia and Lisanne met at LSU and then both ended up in Shreveport. And Lisanne and Patrick met and, well, the rest is history.
So fun to see them and lots of good friends.
Maggie woke up crying at the end of the party ; )
But it was okay... it was winding down anyway.
Looking forward to the wedding in a month.
And Colin leaves this Thursday (his birthday) for a bachelor weekend with Patrick and friends.
He has taken off this whole week so he could spend a few days at home getting some things done.
Or to spoil me by being home before he leaves for 4 days :)
When we got back from Shreveport on Sunday, Jackson showed us his "cat house" that he built. I think it is worth documenting.
I could really do a whole post on his drawing and craft projects. He's currently hoarding egg cartons and empty milk jugs to make some creation.
He even made art for the walls.
A food bowl made out of pipe cleaners and torn up paper for food (he had made this previously).
And completle with a very realistic water bottle. Literally, found him taping the black paper (that he rolled into a cylinder) to the other piece at just the right angle for the cat to drink.
I love my kids : )
The only other thing that happened in Febrauary was the Maggie turned 11 months old. AHHH! But I don't ever think I posted that she turned 10 months old. Took those pictures about a week or less before she was 11 months, and still haven't taken the 11 mo pictures.
Maybe tomorrow.
I gave up coffee and diet dr. pepper and facebook for lent. So, I am tired :) but drinking lots of water!
And facebook, well, that's hard too. I miss seeing pictures of friends kids.
Or updating my status when something really funny or annoying happens, like the person behind me in line at Target getting all in my space and blocking the credit card machine before the cashier has even finished scanning all of my purchases.
What's with that?
I'm going to be better in March.
Or maybe in April. March seems really crazy. Colin, Jackson, and Maggie's birthdays. Easter.
I'll be better in April :)
I don't want to lose my small audience of readers because I don't ever post.
I'll make it really exciting, just wait and see!
I love your family! Still wish you were my neighbor. Sending love.
ReplyDeleteMarch is a crazy month for us too and we only have one birthday in March! Good luck with 3 birthdays, trips, St Patrick's day, Easter and no caffeine! Coffee and dr. pepper should definitely be in your Easter basket on Easter morning!
