Birthday Month

Colin left on his birthday (March 7th) for a long weekend away.   He went for a "bachelor" weekend for Patrick along with some other good college friends.    We missed him!!!  But he SOOOO deserved a get-away.   He doesn't exactly get much time to himself.
He got back late Sunday night after the boys went to bed.  On Monday (which was Jackson's birthday)when he got home from work, the boys were ready with the gift they made for him.   They worked really hard on the banner.   And when I had asked them earlier what we should get him, Jackson thought for a while and then decided we should get window washer fluid for his car, because "he's been needing some for a long time."  (There is a little flashing light that comes on when he starts the car).   So, we got him some windshield washing fluid ; )

After Colin got over the excitement of his gift, we had dinner, and then Jackson got to open his gifts.
Colin's mom was here earlier that day too, so he was already on round 2 of presents : )

My mom got him a K'nex roller coaster set, and he and Cooper got straight to work.

I'm sure Jackson is going to love looking back at all the pictures where he doesn't have any pants on.

 They really blew me away.

Cooper helped out alot.   Jackson spent hours at that table.  He built it until the very last steps and Colin helped finish it off and work out a few kinks.

Also on Monday, I had to make a trip to the pediatrician because Maggie and Charlie had colds, and Maggie's had led to an ear infection.   It was a busy day, and I threw together a cake and didn't cool it for long before I whipped up some chocolate icing ... I added too much since I was frantically trying to get it done.   Instead of thickening it back up I just slapped it on the warm cake, and VOILA -

Even put the candles in the shape of a "J"

Jackson's reaction is priceless.  I think the face was actually a little fear of the candles, but priceless nonetheless.   We're having a party for his this Saturday.

We're plowing through March, maybe the busiest month of the year.
