I just found this post I did a week or so ago... never posted it for some reason
Jackson and Cooper had an exciting weekend. Actually, all of us had a nice weekend. Colin had worked in Houston the previous two weekends, so we were so glad to have some time together.
While Colin was gone, I took the time to teach Jackson had to ride a tricycle. I know, I know. He's 4. But this is the deal. I have two other kids. (I'm full of excuses). When we go for walks, if I have to push/steer him on the tricycle it makes it difficult to pull the wagon with Charlie and Coop. Basically, I'm lazy. And so is Colin.
So, I finally did it. It took us 45 minutes to get around the block. And Cooper was miserable. He wanted "to learn" the whole time and was begging to get on the tricycle. On top of that, I was continuously praising Jackson to keep him motivated. Poor Cooper. He was sad. But, Jackson learned to pedal and steer at the same time. I'm sure he could have learned a year ago if I had ever taken the time to do it.
I'm going to make it up to Cooper and teach him before he is 4! : )
Anyway, Jackson had it down. So this past weekend we went shopping with him and bought him a bike. It's so big. He's so big. (sniffle). He's doing great with it. He hopped on in the store and made twenty laps or so right away. Since we've been practicing at home, he took a few spills. So, that has slowed down things quite a bit. Now he pedals a few times and stops for a drink of water. He's terrified to move much faster than a snail. Which is making it harder for him because he isn't picking up any speed to make the pedaling easier.
Anyway, Jackson is looking pretty darn cute on his big boy bike. And now Cooper is "learning" on the tricycle. He just sits and lets you do all the work.
In other news, Cooper and Jackson started private swim lessons this weekend, too. They are going on Saturday mornings in April, and will go twice a week during May. It went pretty smoothly (I made Colin take them and I stayed home with Charlie). Jackson was pretty brave, and Cooper is working on it! I'll be taking them this weekend, though, because Colin will be running the Warrior Dash with a college buddy of his, David. More on that later.

Girl- an accomplishment is an accomplishment, whenever it happens. I bet Charlie will be potty trained before John Paul.
