Super Cooper is Five!

We celebrated Cooper's fifth birthday a couple of weeks ago with a Batman and Spider Man party.   Had fun making some decorations!

Modge Podge + Comic books for his initials.

City scape on the wall.

Halloween decorations doubled as party decorations :)

Bat burgers.
My only "clever" food title this time.

I found the idea for a training camp and changed it a little ...

The kids each got their own sheet and we gave out a star sticker when they completed each step.

1. Lift the 200 lb barbell

2. Jump over the hot lava

I got a kick out of the boys' reactions when Maggie stepped into the "hot lava"

3. Climb through the webs

4. Beat the Villian - Bean bag toss.

5. Claim your reward.   After the last kiddo finished the bean bag toss, we gave them the first clue on a mini-scavenger hunt.

Jackson was proud to read the clues to everyone.

#1 :  Find the place that helps you go from up to down.
While saying “Wheeeeee!” till you hit the ground.

#2: When Cooper’s done opening all of his gifts,
The wrapping paper and ribbons will all go into this.

And off to the trash can.   They loved the scavenger hunt so much!
Going to be a party must-have from now on.

#4:  Find something big and red and blue,
That’s extra bouncy and fun to do.

#5: Your super hero treat is waiting for you
There is just one more thing you have to do
Find the big blue box next to the big spider
Open it up and see what’s inside-r!

They all got their prizes - capes with their initials on them.

And there is the big bounce house.   So fun!

Mawmaw and Maggie.

Then cake time -
Cake was a challenge - and I waited until that afternoon to decorate it.
Probably won't procrastinate like that for the next party.

One of the boys said "stinky cake!" after Cooper blew out the candles.
They all laughed, and laughed, and laughed.
The boys are still laughing about it.
So funny how things stick with them.

Grandma Cathy: the ice cream lady

Ha.
Thank you, Colin, for looking at the camera.

Favors -

 Book, bookmark, and silly string.

And a couple of cookies to take home.

And here's a shot of the spiderweb Colin made with twine.   It proved to be more difficult than expected.   And Aunt Courtney made a spider, Pawpaw Kevin spray painted it - and voila!  Looked great!

Such a fun time!
We really enjoyed visiting with the parents of Cooper's classmates.
And he had a great time playing with his friends.

He is at the sweetest age.  So curious, sweet, and thoughtful... always asking questions ... most always willing to help me.  So content!
I love the way he sees the world.  He marches to his own beat, and I love it.
We can look at the same thing and see it two totally different ways.
I love dancing with him, and reading with him.
I love his blue eyes.
I love making him laugh.
So very thankful for him.
