For the Fourth of July some of very best friends came to visit us - the clampitts and the speckmans. We had such a fun reunion. Jessica, David, Sam, and Stella got there first. So wonderful to see them all. It's been too long!
Spent some time at the splash pool.
Speckmans arrived and we went straight to Uncle Julio's for lunch.
Oh Cooper.
So fun to have all these kids together.
Pretty ladies.
They give the kids some "dough" to play with. Dr. David gets the award for the best sculpture. Here's the snail he made for Stella. (Too bad those skills didn't help the guys in cranium later - ha)
Outside we decided to get a group shot of the kids. For some reason Sam was giving us his "#1 sign"
Charlie caught on the sign, too : )
Hung out around the house.
At some point Stellas feet were all dirty, and we mentioned she needed to rinse them off. We opened the door from the deck to find she had climbed up on the counter and took matters in her own hands. So cute.
We popped some little poppers in celebration of Independence Day.
Once we got the kids in bed, we sat out on the deck and drank a few (more) beer margaritas and some wonderful vodka drink that David was making too.
Once it got dark, Colin decided it would be good to find an old light lying around and install it where we had an outlet put up for a fan.
Anyway, David and Tyler helped by holding their i phones up with flashlight apps on. Really a classic moment : )
The girls beat the guys at Cranium, and we had a lot of laughs. Ended the night playing baseball in the (very dark) backyard.
The next day we went to Sci Tech.
I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids.
Hurricane Simulator was a hit (except with Charlie)
The kids' favorite part was the water table.
Just before we left, they let us know there would be a presentation. So, all the kiddos sat down ... and watched ... a dissection of a cow eyeball.
Really.
It wasn't good.
Cooper and Charlie were the only two that stuck around for all of it.
And David, too.
Then they let the kids touch it.
Charlie was the brave one. He must not have had a CLUE what he was touching.
They got to pet some type of snake.
I'm certain that Colin liked the cow eyeball over the snake.
The next morning we had donuts.
Took a walk to rocket ship park.
Pretty sure between the distance and the heat, we burned off at least half the donut calories.
The boys took a little walk in the woods and got burrs all over their clothes and legs.
Kept on walking. Took the long way.
But it was so nice, catching up with friends.
We stopped at the pool on the way home and let the boys cool off.
They all swam in their underwear.
We are so lucky to have both of these families as friends.
We had such a great weekend.
How fun to have a full house!!
