First Day of Kindergarten and PreK 3

Last Monday was a big day for us!   Cooper started Pre K for the first time, and Jackson started Kindergarten!  Colin went in to work that morning so he could head up to school with us.   My mom came over and stayed with Maggie and Charlie so we could walk the older two into their classrooms a little easier.

We made a big breakfast (they didn't eat all that much) and already had lunches packed and uniforms (down to the shoes) ready to go.   They were both so adorably excited!

They are both at the same school this year (we LOVE our old preschool at our church - but it just didn't make much sense to drive down to Plano for Jackson, then drive back through Allen and then up to McKinney ...)   So, they are both at St. Mark's Catholic School.  I think we are going to love it too!  The preschool is in a separate building, but they get to eat lunch at the same time in the "big" cafeteria ... so they get to at least wave to each other : )

And here are the goofballs just before we left.

We had A LOT of stuff to bring the first day.  Really glad that Colin was there, and that I wasn't pushing Maggie and Charlie in the stroller, too!

So excited!

Cooper with his teacher, Ms. Ferri.
She is so nice and patient.
There are 8 children in their "busy bumble bee" class ... 6 boys, 2 girls.
Cooper was acting a little silly and made getting a picture a little difficult.
He will go ALL DAY on M, W, F!
Hours for preschool are 7:55 - 3:00, but we drop them off right at 7:40 to be able to get both boys through two different drop off lanes, and into their classrooms on time.
They walk Cooper over to meet Jackson for 3:30 dismissal, so that I can pick them up at the same place, same time.

After we had gotten Cooper settled into his classroom (he ran in and started playing ... had to cal his name twice for him to look up and wave goodbye to us), we realized that we had about 5 minutes to get Jackson to his room.
A little different atmosphere in Kinder.  There are 26 children.  Whew!  Full room.
He quickly found his place at his table, and sat quietly like the other kiddos.
He looked a little nervous, and possibly embarrassed when I hugged him three times and asked for a kiss...)

The only picture that I got of Jackson ...
not even one with his teacher : (
Oh well.
He is loving Kindergarten.   So excited about every detail.
Asked me, "Hey mom, wouldn't it be great if we stayed at Kindergarten even at night?"
: )
I wonder if Charlie or Maggie will be sad when I leave them at school?
Guess it's a good problem to have, and I'm so thankful that they are enjoying it.

The first day was SOOOOO LONG!   I couldn't wait until 3:30 to pick them up.  Charlie helped me lick the batter bake cupcakes (and decorate them in school colors), and we had them waiting as a special after school snack.

  2. Okay - this is just precious. Pic with the lunchboxes - adorable. Our first day is next week. (Praying novenas for the unsuspecting teacher!)
