Throw me something, Mister!

We were so glad that the weather warmed up a little bit on the day of the children's parade. Jackson didn't really know what to expect, and I tried to explain it to him, but it doesn't make much sense to tell him that some floats ("what are floats?") are going to drive down the road and throw you candy and beads. Anyway, Abby was kind enough to share lots of Goldfish with Cooper, and Jackson took it easy in Landon's frog chair while we waited for the parade to begin.

The motorcycle cops came and cleared the street just as the parade was beginning. It was REALLY loud, and the boys were mesmerized.
Abby was pretty tired.

There were a wide variety of participants:
Ms. Cajun Crawfish - Supreme.

A duck in a convertible (?)

Pirate ships.

Lots of big floats

A petting zoo on a flatbed trailer. Actually, there were two petting zoos in the parade.
Hilarious.

Boats pulled behind trucks.

Bounce Houses on floats.
With children bouncing in it as the truck pulled it down the street.
Priceless.

K-Jons (Port-a-Potties) on the back, just in case.

It really doesn't get any better than a Mardi Gras parade.

Jackson came home with a bag FULL of loot - beads, candy, cups, and doubloons.
The parade was definitely the highlight of the trip.
And, if that wasn't enough, Emily invited me to a crawfish boil at her family's house. Mmmmmm. Thanks, Emily - you're the best!
Thank you, Louisiana!
(And thank you mom and Daniel, for helping so much with the boys)
